VUNO said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Visual Medica, the largest picture archiving and communication systems (PASC) company in Latin America, to expand its solution into the regional market.

Under the accord, VUNO and Visual Medicaq plan to market four of the Korean company’s AI solutions for medical imaging using the latter’s local network.

The four VUNO solutions are VUNO Med-BoneAge, VUNO Med-Chest X-Ray, VUNO Med Chest CT AI, and VUNO Med-DeepBrain.

As the first collaboration between the two companies, VUNO and Visual Medica plan to open a joint booth and introduce the VUNO’s solution at the Colombia Conference of Radiology 2022 (CCR 2022), held from Thursday to Saturday in Colombia.

VUNO's radiology specialist will also hold a session to introduce AI solutions in clinical workflows at the CCR 2022 academic program.

“This MOU is meaningful because it laid the foundation for the VUNO’s solution, which has proven its superior technology and clinical effectiveness in global medical institutions, to preoccupy the medical market in Central and South America undergoing digital transformation,” VUNO CEO Lee Ye-ha said. “As strategic partners, the two companies will do their best to target the local market aggressively.”

Visual Medica Global Business Executive Carlos Castro said, “By integrating the VUNO’s solution with Visual Medica's cloud PACS solution, the company has laid the foundation for providing innovative medical technology to customers in Central and South America through this agreement.”

Castro added that the two companies hope to dominate the AI medical market in Latin America based on their synergy.
